LENOVO LED INDIA'S TABLET MARKET IN Q3 2018 THAT GREW 6% THIS QUARTER: REPORT Lenovo  led as India's tablet market grew six per cent in the third quarter of 2018, a new report by CyberMedia Research (CMR) said. According to CMR's "Tablet PC Market Report Review", Lenovo had a 22 percent share while domestic tablet maker iBall was at the second spot with 16 percent and Samsung was third with 15 percent. The Indian tablet market clocked shipments of 0.83 million units while 4G tablet shipments recorded a 47 percent sequential growth in the third quarter of 2018.

Based on internal roadmaps inside Google, 2019 will be the last year you can make the most of Hangouts unless you've signed up to G Suite. That won't come as much of a surprise to those who've been watching the development of Hangouts closely – Google has largely given up on Hangouts as a messaging tool for the masses. That's a shame, because Hangouts is actually very good: lightweight, versatile, and available everywhere from your Gmail inbox to your phone. It certainly fared much better than  Google Allo , which was built primarily to replace Hangouts.

Samyang launches a manual-focus 35mm f/1.2 prime lens Chinese lens manufacturer Samyang has taken the wraps off a new XP 35mm f/1.2 manual-focus optic. This new lens, which for now at least is only available in Canon's EF mount, joins Samyang's other fast-aperture manual focus lenses, the XP 14mm f/2.4, XP 50mm f/1.2 and XP 85mm f/1.2.  Samyang says its new optic is able to work with sensors up to 50MP and higher, and for 8K video capture, so it's future-proofed for the increasingly high-resolution sensors we're seeing in high-end DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.

Microsoft's HoloLens will be used in US Army combat missions Microsoft’s  HoloLens  has seen countless applications in the professional world, from construction to general contracting and beyond, but now it will enter the next theater of war. Sprint and HTC to release a 5G “mobile smart hub” in H1 2019 Sprint and HTC announce that the two companies are working together with Qualcomm to launch a “mobile smart hub” in the first half of next year. No further details were given about what exactly this smart hub looks like or what it do. But Sprint says it will “deliver multimedia and connected data capabilities in a compact and portable design.” It could be have a built-in projector, perhaps?
